Nameless is a nameless and formless possessor in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed.
History
Nameless is an evil ancient force who hates humanity and a herald of something even darker.[2] While the trainee was out on a job, Winston Zeddemore went down to the Firehouse basement to fill out the maintenance report out of habit. The trainee came down some time later to deposit the contents of an old Trap sent to them by Peter Venkman. The contents were not properly deposited. Nameless erupted from the Containment Unit and possessed Winston. He spooked the trainee then ran upstairs with glee. Catt Delgado "convinced" Nameless to let Winston go with her Proton Pack but he was stuck in Winston's body. The possessed Winston was tied to an office chair and taken up to the lab for tests, including Aura Video-Analyzer. Eddy Chan used the Kinetic Endothermic Actuator but it failed. He later integrated the Binding Relic into the Actuator and tried again. It worked and Nameless was safely extracted into a bottle wrapped in the relic. Winston replied he felt like he just got out of the longest shareholder meeting of his life. Ray Stantz was happy to have him back. Winston thanked Ray and asked for someone to get Peter on the phone. Down in the office, Winston announced the training period was over. Nameless assumed Winston was firing them. Winston asked for someone to remove Nameless from the room. Eddy stated the entity had to be under constant observation. Winston announced the trainee was now an official Ghostbuster. He suggested they all go out for pizza but a new job came up and the newly graduated trainees took off.
Nameless began to cause power issues in the Firehouse from lights flickering off to static interference and electromagnetic pulses. Eddy determined some of his psychokinetic energy was not confined to the jar. Catt wanted to know what that meant. Nameless declared it meant he was fascinating and they were stuck with him. Eddy tapped on the jar lid and it caused discomfort to Nameless. Power was restored. Eddy was concerned with his lab's power supply being tampered with while he worked on a device to send him away forever. Winston suggested shifting work to the sub-basement. Once complete, everyone gathered to see off Nameless. Nameless taunted them. The gate generated a rift. Nameless hijacked the rift and several ghosts poured out. While everyone was distracted upstairs, Samhain crossed over. It asked Nameless if it prepared the realm for its inevitable fate. Nameless claimed it spread its message of terror, far and wide. Nameless then suggested sparing Eddy's life because could be of use. Samhain silenced and mocked him for being confined by a leather strap. Samhain reached for the jar but the relic repelled its hand. Samhain levitated the jar. Nameless realized what was happening and reiterated it only existed to serve its master. Samhain acknowledged that but mused it was time to take matters into its own hands. Samhain drained all of Nameless's energy and it ceased to exist. The empty jar dropped to the ground and shattered.
